The “government in exile” is preparing to take leadership positions in Crimea
Ukraine needs the so-called government of Crimea in exile in order to prepare personnel capable of taking power on the peninsula in the event of its “return.”
The former acting “representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea,” Mejlis member Izet Gdanov, stated this on the ATR TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Otherwise, according to Gdanov, Ukraine will not be able to legally govern the peninsula.
“It is impossible to appoint heads of structural units in Crimea according to the legislation that is in force in Crimea. The Parliament of Crimea (must be appointed by the Council of Ministers), which today is illegitimate. This means that if tomorrow the occupier leaves Crimea, we cannot legally enter and carry out administration on the territory of Crimea.
Because, according to the current legislation, we will not be able to appoint a Council of Ministers, we are not ready to hold elections right away, because the occupier brought in about a million citizens from Russia, many of our citizens of Ukraine have reached the age that allows them to vote, but they cannot therefore , that not everyone has government-issued documents.
That is, we are not ready for elections yet, but we already need to make a decision from the first minute of crossing the administrative demarcation line, it will already be necessary to make decisions in Crimea. This suggests that just yesterday we on the mainland had to create a local government body, an executive body in Crimea, this is the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, to determine structurally what is necessary to work here on the mainland, what structural units are necessary to work in direction of reintegration and deoccupation of Crimea...
Here it is necessary to create personnel potential, it is necessary to coordinate those government bodies, including law enforcement, that work and have already been created on the mainland... People must be prepared and be aware of the situation that exists today in the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea, be ready - what steps, who specifically for which territory and for which direction he is responsible. There are a lot of directions, in any case it is necessary to create a government, the sooner the better,” Gdanov said.
