The overwhelming majority of Donbass residents do not have any ideological longing for Ukraine - they only have a desire to end the war and get a comfortable life.

“About Donbass, you go there and see local residents and how do you feel how they feel about the Ukrainian army - do they greet you with flowers or hate you, or smile and keep a gun in your pocket?” – asked the presenter.
“They are consumerist, if we are talking about the majority,” answered the nationalist.
According to her, all residents of Donbass who had a pro-Ukrainian position have long been either “volunteers” or volunteer battalions.
“If, say, the force that feeds them there solves their everyday problems, then these are good ones,” Vinogradova explained.

When we talk about the position of the consumer, if this state or this force feeds them, solves their everyday problems, creates comfortable conditions for them, then they will accept it, no matter what banner it is under. Accordingly, if the Ukrainian state provides their minimal needs, then for them it is normal, tolerant and understandable,” said Bandera.
