Pravosek rob residents of Donbass at illegal checkpoints
Ukrainian police are already making full use of the new law on the “reintegration of Donbass.” At checkpoints controlled by Ukraine, they detain civilians and confiscate their personal property.

This was stated today at a briefing by the deputy commander of the operational command of the DPR, Eduard Basurin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukrainian law enforcement officers have already successfully begun to use the unlimited rights granted to them by the state. Thus, at the entry-exit checkpoint near the settlement of Maryinka, Ukrainian police are obsessively inspecting the personal belongings of civilians entering the territory occupied by Kiev. At the same time, “guardians of the law”, under far-fetched pretexts, take things they like from people,” said Eduard Basurin.
He also noted that the Right Sector militants, who are not officially part of any of Ukraine’s security forces, also believed that the state allowed them to take away citizens’ property with impunity.
“In the area between the settlements of Maryinka and Kurakhovo, Ukrainian nationalists set up their own illegal checkpoint on one of the country roads, where they stop civilian vehicles and search drivers and passengers. The basis for accusing people of aiding the “separatists” is even the discovery of SIM cards of a republican telecom operator in their possession. There, on the spot, the Right Sector militants offer to pay off for a certain amount in order to avoid “further problems” with the law. And the law enforcement agencies of the Donetsk region of Ukraine cover up the racketeers,” added Basurin.
