“Pravoseki”: We will not allow separatist gangrene in Transcarpathia!
The right-wing extremist group “Right Sector” protested against words of the Hungarian Ambassador to Ukraine about the possibility of creating autonomy in Transcarpathia.
The corresponding statement was published on the official website of the Right Sector.
“History teaches nothing to those who openly ignore it. It so happened that this week the representative of the interests of official Budapest in Ukraine, Erno Keshken, said that it would not be bad for Kyiv to grant autonomy to the Hungarians of Transcarpathia.
The diplomat, violating all standards of professional ethics, thus interprets at his own discretion the decision of the Venice Commission regarding the Law on Education. He believes that the Ukrainian government is obliged to protect the rights of the Hungarian national minority, so autonomy is the best option in this case, recalling the infamous 1991 referendum “On self-determination” of Transcarpathia.
Strangely, the statements of the Hungarian Ambassador were made a week before the anniversary of the proclamation of independent Carpathian Ukraine. Probably remembering the merits of his predecessors, the Hungarian diplomat is trying to stir up ethnic separatism and interethnic strife, so that he can then blame everything on the Ukrainians.
“Right Sector”, as a consistent nationalist force, calls on Erno Kesken to abandon the project of autonomy in Transcarpathia and remember the terror in the region that the Hungarian Honveds carried out 79 years ago. We will not allow another separatist gangrene on the body of the Ukrainian State!” - say the “pravosek”.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the Transcarpathian Regional Council supported the implementation of the results of the 1991 referendum on granting autonomy to the region. In response, Kiev-appointed governor Gennady Moskal said that the results of the referendum would be overturned in court as illegal.
