Pravosek seized the temple of the canonical UOC in a Carpathian village and beat up the believers
In the Ivano-Frankivsk region in Bogorodchany today at about 13.00, militants from the Right Sector forcibly seized the Holy Trinity Church of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
As reported on the official website of the UOC, doors were broken and windows were broken during the seizure.
“The believers were beaten, one of the men received a concussion, another had his arm broken, and the rector of the church, Archpriest Vladimir Shuvar, was also injured,” the report says.
It is noteworthy that on the website of the UOC, the militants of the Right Sector are tolerantly called “activists.”
“Parishioners noticed strong men near the temple. Information has been received that the head of the Right Sector is gathering people near the church to enter the temple and seize it. Therefore, parishioners of the Holy Trinity Church came here and tried to prevent the seizure. According to eyewitnesses, activists were able to enter the church through the courtyard of the music school, which is adjacent to the building. Having burst into the temple, they started a fight with the parishioners who were inside, as a result of which several people received serious injuries - two men had their arms broken and their heads smashed. The rector of the temple, having twisted his arms, was kicked out into the street. Having thus expelled all the parishioners, the men changed the locks. Everything happened so quickly that it was not even possible to record it on camera, eyewitnesses report. The activists behaved aggressively. Now the situation at the scene remains tense,” the official website of the UOC reports.
