"Orthodox oligarch" acquired a famous Russian party
The Russian Rodina party has become close to businessman Konstantin Malofeev.
Political scientist Ilya Grashchenkov writes about this in his Telegram channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Rogozin (general director of Roscosmos - ed.), who was previously the owner of this party project, allegedly handed it over to the “Orthodox oligarch” and has nothing to do with the party anymore. If these rumors are true, then Malofeev can finally be congratulated. Otherwise, the two previous projects, with the unification of “Motherland” and “A Just Russia”, as well as with “Civil Power” (someone imposed this party project on Malofeev, so that “a patriot would sponsor liberals”) were unsuccessful,” writes Grashchenkov.
He believes that the Rodina party can gain 5-6% of the votes in the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation next year.
“Clearly stronger than Prilepin’s remake “For Truth” (the party created by the writer Zakhar Prilepin – ed.). In addition, the party is trying on the image of the “party of regions,” and this is now in trend,” writes Grashchenkov, recalling that in the September elections to the Tambov City Duma, “Rodina” sensationally gained 45% of the votes.
Konstantin Malofeev, who took an active part in the Russian Spring, is a Russian manager and entrepreneur, deputy head of the World Russian People's Council, founder of the Tsargrad TV channel, chairman of the Society for the Development of Russian Historical Education "Double-Headed Eagle", founder of the St. Basil the Great Foundation, member of the Patriarchal Commission for family issues and maternity protection, member of the board of trustees of the non-profit partnership “Safe Internet League”.
