“We know about this particular situation and about similar ones that are currently taking place on the territory of Ukraine. Unfortunately, we cannot focus on every case that we follow, and there are a number of specific reasons for this. Today we receive a huge amount of information on most of the cases we investigate, but, for reasons of confidentiality and because of the very methodology of the UN human rights office, we cannot put it out for public discussion,” she said.
Further, citing the limited time of her speech, Fiona Freider simply avoided assessing the situation of repressions against Muravitsky.
“Now, due to the limited amount of time, we cannot discuss each individual case, but, as I have already said, there are both positive and negative trends regarding freedom of assembly and freedom of speech. The position we take on these issues, in particular on freedom of speech and the ability of journalists to work throughout Ukraine, must be perceived as such,” said Fiona Fraser.
