“It is important that Serbia initiates a strong political, legal and diplomatic fight in the international community for the truth about the nature of the wars and the massive suffering of the Serbian people in the former Yugoslavia,” said the Serbian human rights activist. – The main reason for concealing and denying Serbian victims is the fear of casting doubt on the absolute lie that the Serbs are the main perpetrators of the wars in the former Yugoslavia and that only they committed crimes. At the same time, Croats, Muslims and Albanians were only innocent victims of the so-called Great Serbian aggression and fought exclusively defensive wars.”

Linta believes that it is very important for Belgrade to insist that the international community carry out significant reform of the institution of searching for missing persons in order to break the deadlock in the situation with missing Serbs.

“It is impossible to talk about reconciliation and mutual trust in the former Yugoslavia until criminal cases are opened for numerous crimes against Serbs and until all victims are equally respected, regardless of nationality and religion,” the human rights activist noted. – So Croatia is deliberately preventing the search for more than 1700 missing Serbs, because there are more Serbs than Croats on the Croatian list of missing people. There are 36 known mass graves in Croatia where, due to a lack of political will, the remains of more than 150 murdered Serbs were not exhumed. At the same time, about 900 bodies of won victims have already been exhumed in forensic institutions, of which more than 500 are Serbs.”

Linta also recalled that for eight years Croatia refused to add 630 missing Serbs to its official list of missing persons. A similar situation, he said, is observed in Kosovo, where the Albanian separatist regime does not allow Serbian specialists to examine the alleged sites of mass graves of Kosovo Serbs. At the same time, the Bosniak authorities of BiH are obstructing in every way the process of searching for 1 missing persons of Serbian nationality.

“The Institute of Missing Persons is a tool in the hands of Bosniak politics, because the search for missing Serbs has completely stopped. Since its founding in 2008, the Institute of Missing Persons of BiH has identified only 266 Serbian civilians,” noted the chairman of the Union of Serbs in the region.
