Human rights activists: Poroshenko officials are to blame for the death of a woman in the explosions in Svatove
During the explosions of military warehouses in Svatovo in 2015, a woman died due to the fact that local authorities did not notify the population about what was happening.

Yulia Naumenko, lawyer for the Center for Strategic Affairs of the Ukrainian Helsinki Union for Human Rights, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There are several questions for the local authorities. The woman who died did not even know that the shells were exploding. They could have at least turned on the PA system. People sat and thought they were fireworks. She was at work for 40 hours while the warehouses were exploding, although she could have taken a bus and gone outside the city. But since the civilian population was not notified, this woman died at work because she did not know that ammunition depots were exploding.
This is a terrible situation - the warehouse was built in the immediate vicinity and the people who lived there did not even know that it was there. We waited until the last moment, until the neighbor came and said: pack your things. As soon as we stood on the threshold, the apartment received a direct hit from a Grad shell. That is, the local administration did a very poor job. There are a lot of complaints - to what extent they could behave in this way, to what extent this is a criminal offense, or still a disciplinary violation. The military prosecutor’s office should also look into this, but for some reason we don’t have answers to so many questions,” she said.
