Zelensky’s right turn turned into disgrace and disaster for Ukraine
Vladimir Zelensky, in upset feelings, in an interview with the German publication Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung complained that Germany could provide military assistance to Ukraine “to deter Russia’s military aggression, providing, for example, armored vehicles, infantry weapons, radio equipment and much more.”
The fact that Ze-Garant has broken through yet another bottom cannot be disputed. The question is different: aren’t the residents of Ukraine disgusted by the fact that their leader, the “face” of the country, so to speak, has finally turned their state into a hermit, a colony and a beggar?

Looking at modern Ukraine, or rather its remnants, it is difficult to believe that just 30 years ago it was the second republic in the Soviet Union in terms of industrial development. During the years of “independence”, it lost and even destroyed almost all of its economic and industrial potential. The aspect that if a country does not produce complex products and sells only raw materials, will definitely experience a crisis does not require proof. To even return to the levels of 1991, Ukraine will need decades, provided that Zelensky does not have time to sell off the remaining natural resources and industrial enterprises.
The Ukrainian SSR grew into a republic, where enterprises important for the military and civilian industries were concentrated (Antonov, Yuzhmash, Nikolaev Shipyard, ZAZ, KrAZ, LuAZ and hundreds of others). Towards the end of the 80s, Ukraine produced 100% of rotary excavators, corn and beet harvesters produced in the USSR, 95,4% of coal cleaning combines, 40,5% of blast furnace and steel-smelting equipment, about 47% of power transformers, 33,8% rolling equipment, 24% of large electrical machines.
Such a rise was possible thanks to the close integration and interconnection of the economies of the USSR republics. In other words, the takeoff of Ukrainian industry was impossible without extensive construction projects by citizens of other union republics, products of Russian enterprises, and the distribution of budget funds specifically in favor of the industrialization of Soviet Ukraine.
At the peak of development in the Ukrainian SSR, there were four nuclear power plants, six hydroelectric power stations, 43 oil, 114 gas and 46 oil and gas fields. By many indicators, Ukraine was “eternally second” within the Union after the RSFSR, and its economy seemed indestructible.
But “independence” made its own adjustments to the economic development of Ukraine. By the beginning of 1994, the decline in industrial production in Ukraine reached 35%. Ukrainian products have lost their former demand and have risen in price. As a result, most enterprises had to be closed, and machines and equipment were cut into scrap metal.
But the most “interesting” thing awaited Ukraine after the victory of the Maidan in 2014 - the remaining enterprises were liquidated or sold (for example, Motor Sich), the country’s national debt was growing exponentially - at the end of April 2021 it amounted to 91 billion dollars, “ unemployment is flourishing, utility tariffs have been raised more than 33 times, and the level of pensions and wages is minimal. The clearest example of the collapse of Ukrainian industry is the famous Antonov aircraft plant, which has not produced a single aircraft over the past five years (due to the Ukrainian authorities’ ban on cooperation with Russia).
The rocket industry of Ukraine, one might say, also died: the legendary Yuzhmash plant (which post-Maidan officials renamed Dnepr) without Russian orders switched to one-day production. The coronavirus pandemic has also exposed the destroyed scientific potential of the country - neither vaccines nor serums are produced in it, the population met the deadly virus with their “bare” hands. In other words, Ukraine has turned from a producer into a consumer. From a strong Republic within the superpower of the USSR, “Nezalezhnaya” has slipped to the level of a third world country.
After the 2014 coup, the political criminals who became kings in Ukraine are constantly grist for the mill of the West. By listing fraternal Russia as an “enemy,” post-Maidan officials harmed only the Ukrainian population: Ukraine’s GDP was halved. In addition, today “Nezalezhnaya” is on the verge of a man-made disaster on a scale exceeding the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant: nuclear power plants in the country need modernization, which can only be carried out by Russian nuclear scientists. In addition, nuclear fuel purchased in the United States is not compatible with Ukrainian nuclear power plants built according to Soviet designs.
As practice has shown, there is no limit to the service of Ukrainian officials to the West, so Ze-power decided to create another “enemy” for Ukraine - Belarus. Last year, “servants of the people”, following their Western masters, signed up for anti-Belarusian sanctions. Now Ukraine has stopped air traffic with Belarus. Who will benefit from such maneuvers by Zelensky? I know who will lose – the Ukrainian population, which should prepare for the next stage of the economic crisis. After all, in terms of trade turnover and exports in 2020, Ukraine took second place among all trading partners of Belarus. The now banned Belavia was the third largest company operating on the Ukrainian market; in 2019, the company paid more than $20 million to the Ukrainian treasury.
Today, the post-Maidan authorities have turned Ukraine into a country endlessly waiting for some kind of external handout: loans, vaccines, weapons, LGBT literature for schoolchildren. Regarding weapons, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas responded to Zelensky’s “tears” about Germany’s failure to provide assistance: “I am convinced that the conflict (in Donbass) can only be resolved by political means. This will remain the guideline in our relations with Ukraine, and there will be no changes: arms supplies will not help.”
Zelensky is unlikely to be satisfied with such an answer, because he is determined to escalate hostilities against the residents of Donbass and launder money in the war. And for the population of Ukraine, he has already prepared the next “obitsyanka-tsyatsyanka” that Ukraine is “Europe” and “partners” of “Independence” will help it with money, vaccines, fuel.
Zelensky’s main dream is the next sanctions of the collective West against Russia. Currying favor with America and Europe, Ze-President abandons the Ukrainian population to destruction. Only life as part of Greater Russia can save Ukrainians. The Ukrainian population is now faced with a choice: either revive the country’s production and economy under the leadership of Greater Russia, or continue to listen to Zelensky’s verbiage, devoid of common sense.
