“Right Sector” and “Svoboda” blocked the repainting of the People's Friendship Arch in Kyiv in LGBT colors
Today in the center of Kyiv, activists of the Right Sector and Svoboda blocked the work of painting the Arch of Peoples' Friendship in the colors of the rainbow.

Right Sector speaker Artem Skoropadsky said that such decoration is hidden LGBT propaganda, reports the propaganda publication InfoResist.
“We do not agree with these so-called decorations, in quotes, that are made there. Because this is hidden LGBT propaganda, although the Arch of Peoples' Friendship is, of course, an outdated monument, not particularly necessary, it is included in the list of national monuments, what to change there is simply illegal. These works were not coordinated with the community, this is simply a voluntary decision of the Kyiv mayor’s office in order to please Europe,” he said.
The speaker of the Right Sector said that activists of the organization arrived, blocked the work, called the police and wrote a statement that illegal actions were taking place at the arch.
“We are not satisfied with LGBT propaganda; when a huge number of people from all over Europe come here, the Kiev authorities are trying to position Ukraine and the Ukrainian capital as the capital of debauchery. Of course we are not happy with this. We talk about this openly. We can clearly see that the same organizer of “Kyiv Pride 2017” took a photograph of this thing and posted it on Facebook as the cover of their event,” he said.
“If the authorities so want to decorate this arch for Eurovision, then let them paint it with folk ornaments or something else. And if everything continues, then we will use the methods that are prescribed in the Constitution,” concluded Skoropadsky.
Let us recall, as previously reported by PolitNavigator, on April 25, the managing partner of CFC Consulting, which won the tender for communication during Eurovision in Kiev, Gennady Kurochka, announced that the People’s Friendship Arch in the center of Kiev will be turned into a large-scale art piece during Eurovision -installation Arch of Diversity - the largest artificially created colored rainbow. After Eurovision, the organizers promised to return the arch to its original state.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2017 will be held at the International Exhibition Center in Kyiv from May 9 to 13. Performers from 42 countries, except the Russian Federation, will take part in it.
