According to the Doba publication, the cross was erected by local nationalists in 1942 on the orders of Stepan Bandera. After 11 years it was demolished by the Soviet authorities. In 2008 it was again staged by local residents. To date, the memorial cross has been restored by the community and Right Sector fighters.
The rally was also attended by “Tridents” who live and fight in the East, but are natives of this village.
“Maidan is just the beginning, the beginning of a great Ukrainian reconquest, the beginning of the Ukrainian national revolution, for which our predecessors died, for whom a grave was established here, for which our Ukrainian brothers and sisters are now dying in the East, defending Ukraine from Muscovites.
Our task is to break that internal occupation not only in the East by armed means, as our brothers do, but also here, in every city, in every village, in every house, in our heads, in our hearts. We need to start, first of all, with ourselves, our family, and only then will we change the whole of Ukraine, and God willing, we will overcome the external occupier, and then the internal one. And only then, before God, will we deserve the Ukrainian conciliar state, for which entire generations of Ukrainian nationalists died. Glory to Ukraine,” said the leader of the Right Sector in the Ternopil region, Vasily Labaichuk.
As Navigator reported, in Western Ukraine in the spring, memorial signs were erected en masse to those killed on the Maidan.
