“On the 5th km of the Kyiv-Zhitomir highway the day before, PS soldiers set up a checkpoint. Recently, PS soldiers at this checkpoint had a shift change. Now there are about 20 people on duty here, each of them fully staffed. There is a bulletproof vest, a helmet, and everyone has binoculars. I personally saw the prepared Molotov cocktails, as the fighters said, just in case. They also have weapons, I don’t know what kind of weapons and their quantity, since this information is hidden,” he said.
In addition, according to one of the “seniors” of this checkpoint, the fighters have a specific plan of action.
“One of the objectives of this plan is to narrow the Zhytomyr highway from three lanes into one and stop every truck, every truck, every suspicious minibus and check it, because perhaps it could be carrying ammunition,” the correspondent noted.
At the same time, the PS intends to block traffic along the highway in the event that “reinforcements for the police or for the National Guard come from Kyiv towards Zhitomir, towards Mukachevo.”
“We also managed to find out that mobile checkpoints are currently being created, their main goal will be to set up these checkpoints 300-500 m in two directions from this location and inform the fighters here about certain suspicious vehicles,” - UNIAN reports.
According to the agency, PS fighters have a retractable “hedgehog” that can block the highway and pierce the tires of cars in a few seconds.
According to the report, checkpoints are now located at all exits from the capital, but no conflict situations have occurred yet.
