The head of the “Right Sector” of Volyn, a representative of the special-purpose regiment “Azov” Pavel Danilchuk demands from the Central Election Commission to register as a candidate for people’s deputies in the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in electoral district No. 22, the VolynPost publication reports.
According to media reports, Danilchuk submitted registration documents to the CEC on September 24. On September 30, the CEC published a resolution to refuse registration, citing the fact that Danilchuk’s autobiography does not meet the requirements of Art. 55 of the Law of Ukraine “On elections of people’s deputies of Ukraine”.
On October 1, Danilchuk filed a statement with the Kiev Administrative Court of Appeal. On October 3, a meeting was held at which the judge recognized the actions of the Central Election Commission as lawful. On October 6, Danilchuk appealed to the Supreme Administrative Court, the court of first instance, and on October 7, after a many-hour hearing, the court made a decision in support of the Right Sector leader.
