“Right Sector” shot “cyborgs” on the spot

Ukrainian military personnel who were in the new terminal of the Donetsk airport could not even evacuate their wounded soldiers.

A participant in the assault on the Donetsk airport, DPR Armed Forces fighter Vladislav Shinkar, call sign “Shiba,” told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this.

The serviceman said that after Christmas 2015, ten days before the assault on the new terminal, an interesting incident happened to his unit.

“The Ukrainian command contacted our leadership with a request to evacuate a seriously wounded soldier (the so-called “cyborg”, as they called themselves) from the new terminal building. In the evening, upon arrival at the airport, I received a command from the regiment commander that we, together with the commandant’s office, move to the new terminal building, where we will be given a soldier who will need to be transferred to an ambulance, which, in turn, will take him to Konstantinovka. Despite the fact that the agreement was at the highest level, we had little idea of ​​the course of this operation,” recalls Shiba.

The military man emphasized that, despite the fact that every day there were dead and wounded from the DPR Armed Forces, the military understood perfectly well that they needed to remain human even with enemies.

“We set out around 9 pm. The battalion commander, the chief of staff and I, the deputy for armaments, together with the commander of the commandant’s office unit, moved to the new terminal. 1.5 - 2 kilometers before the new terminal, the “commendachi” said that there was no point in moving further, since we would simply be destroyed. The request of the Ukrainian side was that we arrive at the site without weapons. We, of course, ignored this statement: under the peacoat they were wearing both “flies” and machine guns, since the Donetsk airport was a high-risk zone.

Setting out on foot. After we had walked three hundred meters, they suddenly opened fire on us from the AGS. We lay down, the chief of staff of “Crimea” immediately got in touch with the requested Ukrainian side. After this there was a five-minute lull, after which we saw some explosions in the rear of the Ukrainian troops. Apparently, they had some kind of showdown among themselves,” the serviceman believes.

Shiba and his fellow soldiers then went to meet the enemy.

“After everything calmed down, they came to us and said that we could continue moving. About 200 meters later we heard someone approaching us, we heard a voice in Surzhik: “Boys, can you please come?” The picture was pitiful: two soldiers, wrapped in rags, in torn peacoats, in “semi-civilian clothes,” were carrying a wounded soldier on a stretcher, who was wrapped in foil and frostbite film. We examined the wounded man, he was alive - the pulse was palpable. The cyborgs reported that his larynx was torn, his lower jaw was missing, and there were multiple shrapnel wounds to his arms and chest (he was practically a living corpse). At the same time, he somehow nodded to all the questions - he showed signs of life.

The transfer itself was not long. The fighters said that one of them was from Ternopil, the second from the Lviv region. In response to my questions about what they are doing on our land, why they are transferring a fighter not to their rear, and why we should help the enemy, they explained that they were hostages of the situation, and would like to leave the airport a long time ago, but “Right Sector” does not give them such an opportunity, threatening them with executions,” an eyewitness reported details of the conversation.

Shiba noted that the wounded Ukrainian soldier was transferred to an ambulance that evening.

“A year later, when meeting with Rubin, he told me the continuation of this story. This guy was saved, the French even made a film about him. It is clear that everyone kept silent about the role of the militia. Any person at war must, first of all, remain human. There are situations when you must destroy the enemy, there are times when you must lend him a helping hand, show him that you have not become “brutalized.” Why are we sure that victory will be ours? Because we are different from the animal world that often prevails in the Ukrainian army,” Shiba emphasized.
