The minimum “Easter basket”, including a kilogram of boiled pork, a kilogram of home-made sausage, a bottle of Moldovan and Ukrainian wine, half a kilo of cheese, seasonings, 200 grams of butter, will cost residents of Ukraine 569 UAH this year, which is 27% more expensive than a year earlier.

Alexey Doroshenko, general director of the Ukrainian Association of Retail Chain Suppliers, announced this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The lion’s share of this set – almost 40% – was occupied by meat products. They are the most expensive now. Another 20% are alcoholic drinks. Taking into account today's excise tax, not everyone can afford them, even not every week. Meat and alcohol took up 60% of our basket. The only thing that hasn’t gone up in price over the year is church candles,” said the market expert.
