“But the holiday is not real!” - Mejlis members about the pro-government action “Light a fire in your heart!”
A member of the Mejlis, chairman of the Committee for the Protection of the Rights of the Crimean Tatar People, Eskender Bariev, complains that the pro-government Crimean Tatars stole the idea of the traditional action of the Mejlis youth “Light a fire in your heart.”

“Every year, since 2007, on the evening of May 17, the Crimean Tatar Youth Center holds a requiem action “Light a fire in your heart!” Every year this event attracted more and more participants and expanded the geography of the event. Last year, the “Power of Crimea” did not allow an action to be held in the central square of the city of Simferopol... I, as one of the authors of this action and the organizer for all these years, am outraged by the cynicism of people who honor the tyrant, and then try to mourn his victims by stealing other people’s ideas,” Eskender Bariev is indignant.
The main “committee” of the Majlis, as an alternative in Crimea, without specifying the location, calls for fireballs to be launched into the sky at 21.00.
