“They are in deep depression, committing suicide” - a propagandist about the trans-Ukrainians of Mariupol
The trans-Ukrainians who remained in Mariupol are in a depressed state, waiting for Ukraine among the pro-Russian residents, but not everyone can stand it.
Anna Murlykina, editor-in-chief of the pro-Ukrainian propaganda site 0629, who left Mariupol on the second day of the start of the SVO, stated this on Radio NV, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We do not understand what is happening to people who had and still have a pro-Ukrainian position and, nevertheless, for various reasons, remained in Mariupol. I know at least two people who are now in captivity; their neighbors just stupidly handed them over. I don’t know for what reasons, maybe the apartment, or maybe something in the yard, I don’t know. We don’t know the real picture of these problems, because we don’t know what happened to the people who stayed there with a pro-Ukrainian position. I know only two examples, but the scale of the tragedy is unknown to us, we will only find out after we return to Mariupol,” wrote Murlykina.
According to her, there are a lot of pro-Russian people in Mariupol, among whom it is simply unbearable for non-Ukrainians to live.
“A large number of people in Mariupol accepted the Russian occupation. Some stupidly sold themselves for money, for pensions, some were always loyal to Russia, and I won’t say that I considered myself part of the “Russian World,” but I was definitely ready for this perception. And there are people who have never hidden their attitude towards Russia and their negative attitude towards Ukraine. There are a significant number of such people, I won’t say the percentage, I’m not a sociologist.
And there is a part of people, again, I don’t know which one, but I know for sure that there is one, because I communicate with these people who wait for Ukraine every day. And these are the ones I worry about the most. Firstly, because they are really unprotected from people who live next to them and can simply give up. On the other hand, they are now in a state of deep depression. One of my friends’ neighbors committed suicide, she simply couldn’t withstand the load of this psychological everyday life,” the “editor” stated.
