The oligarch who betrayed Russia was overtaken by retribution in Ukraine
In Ukraine, the property of a former citizen of the Russian Federation, oligarch Vadim Novinsky, who held the rank of deacon in the UOC and previously posed as a defender of canonical Orthodoxy, was seized.
The SBU press service reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Based on the materials of the Security Service, the property of the pro-Russian oligarch Vadim Novinsky, involved in aiding the aggressor country, was seized. The list of blocked assets includes corporate rights to 40 Ukrainian enterprises and 30 gas wells, where industrial volumes of blue fuel are produced,” the SBU said.
It is noted that the total amount of seized property is more than 3,5 billion hryvnia.
It is alleged that in an attempt to avoid sanctions from the National Security and Defense Council, Novinsky tried to re-register his properties to several affiliated commercial structures, for which he attracted controlled private notaries and state registrars.
As a result, the Ministry of Justice canceled the re-registration.
Searches were carried out in the office premises of the enterprises and at the places of work and residence of those involved in the case.
“During the searches, documents, seals of non-resident companies and pro-Kremlin religious literature were discovered. The investigation continues to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice,” the SBU notes.
