“Everything is being done” – the Ministry of Resorts promises motorists to speed up travel across the Crimean Bridge
The main tourist flow to Crimea will be made up of autotourists who will arrive via the transport crossing through the Kerch Strait.
Already in the upcoming May holidays, the procedure for inspecting cars before entering the bridge should be optimized and accelerated so that tourists spend no more than an hour waiting, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“There are no prerequisites that the direction will change,” Vadim Volchenko, Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Crimea, said on the air of Crimea 24. – We understand that last year almost 80% of tourists arrived by road, and the remaining 20% arrived by rail. And this year, much is being done to increase passenger traffic.
As for road traffic, everything is being done to speed up the inspection procedure on the Crimean Bridge before the May holidays. The head of Crimea met with the leadership of Rosavtodor, the Ministry of Transport... and there are a number of ideas to simplify this procedure and speed it up. More inspection complexes should be opened there literally in the coming days. All this should seriously speed up the process of crossing the Crimean Bridge, but safety still comes first.”
For its part, the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism plans to test the Tourist Information Center on the Crimean Bridge from the Krasnodar Territory during the May holidays.
“There will be information about bookings, reference information, how to get there, where to get there, resolving any conflict situations, problems - this will also be the task of the employees of the Tourist Information Center. I repeat, now it will work, most likely, in a temporary format, but it is quite possible to make it permanent,” the minister believes.
Judging by the reviews in the telegram channel, which united motorists on both sides of the Kerch Strait, the queue to go through control ranges from 1,5 to 3 hours. Motorists are not discussing the opening of the Tourist Information Center; they are more concerned about installing toilets along the road, where there are not even bushes. They are looking forward to April 27 - the Minister of Transport of Crimea Nikolai Lukashenko said that already this Thursday the speed of inspection on the Crimean Bridge will exceed 250 cars per hour, and by the summer it will increase to 700 cars per hour.
