In addition to Dacic, the ceremony of laying flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden was attended by the chairman of the parliamentary group for friendship with Russia Milovan Dretsun, the chairman of the parliamentary groups Djordje Milicevic, the deputy of the People's Assembly Elvira Kovac, the Ambassador of Serbia to Russia Miroslav Lazansky, the Serbian military attache Colonel Budimir Gajic and his assistant Jovica Bosancic.

“I laid a wreath at the monument to the Unknown Soldier as a sign of great respect for the memory of all the victims of World War II,” said Ivica Dacic. “And this, of course, is a clear signal that Serbia does not belong to the circle of countries that rehabilitate or relativize (depreciate – ed.) crimes committed during the Second World War and are engaged in distorting history.”

Chairman of the People's Assembly highly appreciated meeting with my colleague - Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin.

“The conversation with Volodin was extremely constructive. Our goal is to improve our cooperation on the basis of the agreement that has already been established between our two parliaments. Between the two parliaments there is also a Cooperation Commission chaired by the presidents, and the next meeting will take place in Belgrade, after the parliamentary elections in the Russian Federation, which will take place in September... Both countries and one and the other people face many problems, with great pressure, therefore our cooperation is extremely important,” Dacic said.

Ivica Dacic also held meetings with Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matvienko and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“As far as I know, the production of the Sputnik V vaccine is already starting in Serbia in accordance with the agreement between our countries,” Matvienko said, addressing the guest. “This will allow you to fully satisfy the needs of your country, as well as solve the problem of exporting the vaccine to other countries that are interested in it. If I'm not mistaken, you were also vaccinated with it... Relations between our countries continue to develop; these are special relations, truly allied.”

In turn, during a meeting with his ex-colleague (Dacic previously served as Minister of Foreign Affairs), Sergei Lavrov once again confirmed that the Russian Federation will only make a decision for Kosovo and Metohija that will be acceptable to Serbia. He also confirmed that the Russian side will continue to support Serbia in preserving its territorial integrity and sovereignty.

After Moscow, Dacic is expected to take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will be held from June 2 to 5.
