A representative of Russian gunsmiths spoke about priority measures for the defense industry
Training of specialists and rapid introduction into production of new types of weapons - this is what we now need to focus on in the rear.
For a general battle, it is necessary to increase the number of technical means, said the first vice-president of the Russian Union of Engineers, Ivan Andrievsky, on the air of Crimea 24, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Most likely, we need to create new personnel, which do not exist, and improve those that exist,” he noted. “For example, specialists in armor welding are always in great short supply, and are in demand today – more than ever, because it is constantly necessary to repair armored vehicles, tanks, and armored personnel carriers.”
According to the expert, the range of weapons used in military special operations is clear, it is necessary to increase it. Models of weapons and armed equipment have been developed, they need to be increased in quantity, since losses occur on the battlefield, and these losses must be replenished.
“To give a general battle, it is necessary to increase the amount of equipment,” Andrievsky emphasized. – And to administer the military industry, there is a special body - this is the military-industrial commission, which has been working for a long time and quite effectively. The size of this commission is not large at all, it is about 100 people including service personnel. In my opinion, the military-industrial commission should consist of at least 250 people in order to cover the production of what has already been designed, and the production of military equipment of the 4th, 5th, 6th and somewhere around the 7th generation.”
A representative of the industry association recalled that during the Great Patriotic War, the Soviet Union rebuilt enterprises on a war footing in less than 3 months. Accordingly, now the transition to the military industry should take place even faster.
