The representative of Ukraine in PACE expressed claims against the UN
The UN and leading European countries do not want to spoil relations with Russia and impose sanctions against it to please the Kyiv government.
Verkhovna Rada deputy, member of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE Borislav Bereza stated this on the Pryamoy TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The UN, unfortunately, does not resolve the issue, expressing exclusively its concerns. We need to raise our question, we need to voice it, but we need to rely on those who are ready to help us. The UN is not helping now, these are, let’s say, partners who say they are concerned, but we don’t see any sanctions towards Russia from the UN, we don’t see Russia being excluded from any of their structures, we don’t really see any sanctions towards Russia powerful solutions. But we see something else, how Russia continues to take part as a full participant,” the deputy was indignant.
“Any country that was in the USSR understands that after Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine, it could be next. Now that I have returned from a meeting of the PACE Committee, where I spoke with representatives of Estonia, Georgia, and Poland, they are really concerned because they understand that they could be next. But when this issue is raised with representatives of Germany, Austria, Portugal or other European countries, they say that we need to communicate and negotiate with Russia,” Bereza said.
