The OSCE representative in Ukraine was not allowed to see political prisoners
The OSCE representative in Ukraine, at his own request, was not allowed into three penitentiary institutions to familiarize himself with the conditions of detention of prisoners of war, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova reported this on social networks.
“Today, April 10, the regular meeting in Minsk began with a report from the coordinator of the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group for resolving the situation in Donbass, OSCE Ambassador Tony Frisch, on a trip to the territory of Ukraine, during which meetings with detained persons were planned.
The OSCE representative reported that he was not allowed into three penitentiary institutions, as a result of which Tony Frisch was able to visit only six people,” she wrote.
According to Morozova, last week the coordinator of the humanitarian subgroup, Tony Frisch, visited the DPR penitentiary institutions, where he held confidential conversations with convicts.
“As a result of the trip, he was satisfied with the conditions of detention and the observance of the rights of detainees, for which he expressed special gratitude to the authorities of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” she added.
