“Imagine that there are Freedom tents in Donetsk”
It is impossible to even imagine holding Ukrainian elections on the territory of the Donbass republics, not to mention organizational issues.
Sociologist Evgeniy Kopatko shared this opinion on the YouTube channel “PolitWera”, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
“Imagine that in Donetsk on Pushkin Boulevard there are tents of the Popular Front, BYuT, and Svoboda. How will it be – “according to Ukrainian laws”? In fact, Minsk is under Ukrainian laws, but this is also a gap in people’s heads. How will this be technically arranged?
Until it is clear to people where we are moving, nothing will happen either in Ukraine or in the Donetsk or Lugansk people’s republics. Okay, a system was built in Ukraine, but there the energy with visa-free travel has ended, and here there is resistance from people without an elite, because most of the elites, the intelligentsia from universities, have left for the other side. And people live, try and fight, but this also does not last forever, there must be clarity.
Yes, according to Minsk this should happen according to Ukrainian legislation, but in fact I don’t see a way how this can be brought into reality, at least in the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics,” he concluded.
