Two months of blind defense ahead - Russian general
In the next two months, the Russian army group located at the fronts will have to dig in and take up a defensive position in anticipation of reserves.
State Duma deputy, member of the Defense Committee Andrei Gurulev said this on the air of the Sunday Evening talk show, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the reserve lieutenant general, it will take at least two months for new units to be transferred to the front.
“We must understand that only a month is more or less some kind of preparation and coordination for the newly formed units. That is, if, in fact, everyone started on October 1, because this was the time they were recruiting and forming, then by November 1 we will receive newly formed units. Today we didn’t take all 300 thousand, we took as many people as we can dress and put on shoes, and most importantly, the material base on which they will study and study,” the deputy said.
“If we say everything will be ready by November 1, we still have to move. To send a regiment roughly from Chita towards the front, it will take 20-25 days. One regiment is approximately 16 echelons of troops. They need to be adjusted, loaded from at least two stations, and all this must be fully ensured.
That is, all this will come to the front and will approximately be concentrated no earlier than December 1, and then, I’m probably an optimist in this matter. In total, we will have something more or less decent in just two months. These are from those reserves that are available.
What to do for two months? And for two months you need to be on a strategic defense, a concrete one. It’s a good idea to dig in, dig in using everything, all the engineering equipment that is available,” Gurulev said.
