In Ukraine, social networks are actively discussing the discovered recording of Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s election video, where he advertised the benefits of the association agreement with the European Union.
“These wages and pensions are 5 times higher than in Ukraine today. This is modern medicine. These are new technologies, significant investments, a huge market, cheap loans and new jobs. This is the right of every Ukrainian to travel freely throughout Europe - without visas and borders,” Yatsenyuk described the bright future.

The reality, however, turned out to be different - after the victory of the Maidan, the hryvnia exchange rate fell 3 times compared to the times of Viktor Yanukovych. Accordingly, the salaries and pensions of Ukrainians have depreciated. Russia closed its market for Ukrainian goods, and it was not possible to replace supplies to the Russian Federation with sales to the EU. There is a war going on in Donbass, enterprises are being closed and destroyed, and unemployment is growing. Investors are leaving the country, banks are going bankrupt. The European Union did not provide Ukraine with a visa-free regime, but on the contrary, complicated the border crossing rules for Ukrainians.
