Klimkin's successor has been finally decided
Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Vadim Prystaiko remains the only candidate for the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by Assistant to President Vladimir Zelensky Andriy Ermak in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
“Prystaiko remains the only candidate for the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and we openly talked about this,” he said.
Ermak noted that the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for European Integration, Elena Zerkal, is a professional person respected in the international community. “I think it will be a great success for everyone if she continues to work in the position she is in today. She’s in the right place,” he says.
Ermak also denied information that in the future he could become deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine instead of Prystaiko.
“Today, as an assistant to the president, on his instructions, I am involved in issues of international politics. I will continue to supervise some of these areas in the future. I'm where the president needs me. Becoming deputy head of the President’s Office is not part of my plans,” he emphasized.
