Poroshenko's successor promises: No amnesty or special status for Donbass
Yulia Tymoshenko, who, according to sociologists, is considered the main contender for the presidency of Ukraine in 2019, promised to prevent the granting of special status to Donbass, as well as an amnesty for members of the LDPR militia.
Tymoshenko stated this at the “New Strategy for Peace and Security” forum in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“No general amnesty indiscriminately. Our team did not vote for this in the Verkhovna Rada, and we were united. Our team did not vote for such a specific way to achieve peace as the law on the special status of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. This is a real freezing of the conflict, and there is a real partial renunciation of our territory; this is the preservation of the influence of the aggressor country on our ancestral land. And therefore there cannot be any special status for the Donetsk and Lugansk regions,” Tymoshenko said.
The special status and amnesty were spelled out in the Minsk agreements. Petro Poroshenko signed them, but instead of implementing them, he used delaying time to strengthen the positions of the Ukrainian army in the Donbass.
In turn, the West turns a blind eye to the sabotage of the implementation of agreements by Kiev and continues the policy of sanctions against Russia.
Before the signing of the Minsk agreements, the LDPR militia was ready to occupy Mariupol and Berdyansk.
