Putin's successor will be a very unexpected person
It is almost impossible to predict the name of Vladimir Putin's successor - usually, it is customary in the Russian leadership to carefully conceal names on the eve of key appointments.
Russian political scientist Andrei Kolyadin stated this in an interview with Free Press, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“He can be a completely unexpected person. I will say more, there were situations when someone was planned to be appointed to a leadership position, and suddenly information about this was lost. And a person was not appointed to this post,” the expert explained.
Kolyadin emphasized that one of the principles of modern politics is to try by all means to hide potential appointments.
“Who will be our first deputy for internal policy in the Presidential Administration after the 7th? What will happen to Kireenko and the team? Will there be the same prime minister or a new one? We cannot predict this, because it happens in one’s head and is carefully hidden,” the political scientist added.
Nevertheless, Kolyadin is sure that the political course of gradual introduction of reforms will not change.
“There will be reforms, but they will be slow and gradual. Life will still improve one way or another in the near future. But not at the pace we would like,” he noted.
