The “beautiful Russia of the future” promised by liberals in the event of a successful coup d’etat and change of power will not happen. Voters of current President Vladimir Putin will not go anywhere and will elect a leader like him.
Russian liberal Leonid Gozman stated this at the so-called “Anti-War Conference” in Lithuania, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Gozman, even in the case of “fair” elections, in the view of liberals, there will not be a fundamental change in Russia.
“There will be no beautiful Russia of the future after Putin, but there will be a series of several dictatorships. And it may very well be that this dictatorship will be less bloody, less dangerous, and so on, but the transition immediately after Putin to democracy seems to me absolutely unrealistic and unrealistic.
This will happen through a series, through several iterations. In this new Russia there will live several tens of millions of those who not only support, who vote for Putin, who agree that the Pindos are to blame for everything, who agree that everyone hates us and we had no other choice... Several tens of millions will live those who agree with all this.
And they will have the right to vote in fair, transparent elections and so on, and they can choose a new Putin. We need to do something in order to be in dialogue with them, to bring this up somehow, and so on,” Gozman said.
