Kyiv, June 27 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – Five people protested at the French Embassy in Kyiv on Friday, demanding to abandon the contract for the construction of Mistral-class landing ships for the Russian Navy.

The protesters held A4 pieces of paper with calls in French: “Today – Ukraine, tomorrow – Europe”, “If you give weapons to the aggressor, you become accomplices of murder.”
“We believe that it is these ships that can complicate the situation in the Black Sea region. The European and world community should pay attention to this,” one of the protesters told a Navigator correspondent.
Those gathered also tried to hand over the petition they had drawn up to the embassy, but no one came out from there.
Today, Russian media reported, citing a source at the headquarters of the Russian Navy, about the preparation of a berth in Sevastopol for one of the Mistral class helicopter carriers, which after construction will be based in Crimea.
