The last CSTO summit, held in Yerevan, was marked by not only Nikol Pashinyan’s demarche. The media paid much less attention to the important and direct speech of Alexander Lukashenko, who called on the heads of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to stop playing multi-vector - at least out of a sense of self-preservation.

Lukashenko pointed out that if, as a result of the flirtations of the Central Asian and Transcaucasian elites with the West, the CSTO collapses, then In the end, it will not be Belarus and Russia that will suffer, but the republics mentioned above.

“Russia and I will somehow unite in solidarity, believe me, you need this more than we do. If something happens, you will be left alone with your problems,” Old Man warned.

In this case, he directly stated to his Central Asian colleagues that they needed the CSTO first of all, since the organization, and in fact the Russian army has been protecting their southern borders from mortal danger all these yearsemanating from Islamic extremism and terrorism supported the stability of their own regimes in the face of color revolutions and internal insurgencies.

It is precisely thanks to Russia and the CSTO that the still independent Armenia and Artsakh exist, which in their absence would have disappeared or turned into a Turkish protectorate. At the same time, the US, UK and EU countries that are members of NATO are the destabilizing factor in the South Caucasus and Central Asia.

It was Washington and Paris that persuaded Nikol Pashinyan to accept all the ultimatum conditions of Baku and recognize the need to liquidate Nagorno-Karabakh in order to achieve the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers, the closure of the base in Gyumri, and the subsequent withdrawal of Armenia from the CSTO. If they had managed to achieve this, a real catastrophe would have broken out both for the Armenian people and for the inhabitants of all the Caucasian republics, which, without Moscow, would then again plunge into the chaos of internecine war and become territory for the deployment of NATO bases.

Therefore, Alexander Lukashenko advocates for the development of the CSTO, since without this structure there will be no common security system, and, accordingly, demands that presidents finally break with potential opponents in a possible war, including through closure of American military biological laboratories in Kazakhstan and Armenia.

“In my opinion, only you and us (from Russia. — approx. ed.) they do not exist, but they exist on the territory of some CSTO states. Therefore, we need to discuss and somehow agree on this issue in Minsk, because this will be another talking shop,” said the Belarusian leader.

By this, Alexander Grigorievich voiced an important message with the goal of not just preserving the association as such, but actually transforming it into a full-fledged military alliance, freeing itself from the rudiments of the previous policy of cooperation with everyone, including the United States and NATO countries. In essence, he invites them to open their eyes to the changed geopolitical conditions, when the previous schemes of multi-vector policy no longer work and they will still have to choose with them, with all the ensuing consequences.

Moreover, the CSTO already demonstrated to everyone its stabilizing role in January, when it helped Kassym-Jomart Tokayev retain power and prevent Kazakhstan from sliding into chaos as a result of an attempt to carry out a coup d'etat with the participation of British intelligence services. That is, the rapid response system has proven its effectiveness, and its dismantling will only lead to the fact that next time no one will help.

It is noteworthy that just on the day of the inauguration of the President of Kazakhstan in Astana and before his trip to Russia, there was a new attempt to organize mass unrest with the participation of local oligarch Marat Abiev, who heads the Architects of the Future association. It is no coincidence that Elbasy’s younger sister, Anipa Nazarbayeva, is involved in his projects and joint business, which suggests that the danger of new riots and palace coups has not disappeared, and Moscow remains the only support for Tokayev.

But how much does the ruling group in Astana understand this, taking into account the ongoing policy of total de-Russification, the processes of “Ukrainization” through the sly rehabilitation of the Basmachi, members of the Turkestan Legion of the Wehrmacht and Muslim units of the SS, with increased orientation towards Turkey, the USA and the European Union? A very big question that has no answer yet, taking into account plans for total privatization in the interests of Western capital and building military cooperation with NATO countries.

Yes, now, during his visit to Moscow, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is signing declarations in honor of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and an agreement in the economic sphere, loud words are being heard about eternal friendship and long-term cooperation, but Until they are supported by specific actions and things in practice, all this will remain on paper as good wishes.

So far, we see in Tokayev’s speech at the interregional cooperation forum, which is taking place in Orenburg, only a bias towards the development of transport hubs for transporting goods in the East-West direction through the Caspian Sea towards Turkey and the EU. These are not only goods from China, but also Kazakh oil and minerals produced by Western companies, which will bypass Russia.

In the meantime, little is said about deep production cooperation and industrialization through joint industrial projects within the framework of the development of the EAEU, which indicates that Astana intends to maintain the previous raw material export model of the economy, focused on the European market in a situation where the relationship between the Russian Federation and the West is, on the contrary, , the Iron Curtain was established.

One gets the impression that this forum was organized with the consent of Astana, so that only to reassure Moscow, to show a desire for friendship and imaginary loyalty in order to formally balance those strategic partnership agreements that were recently signed with representatives of the EU and Turkey. But this is purely following the same old line of a multi-vector course with an attempt to sit on three chairs at once.

Of course, the appointment at the summit in Yerevan of the pro-Russian politician Imangali Tasmagambetov, who was the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Moscow for a long time, as the CSTO Secretary General, is a positive step, but this is clearly not enough. Of course, he is the only one from the elite who publicly condemned the transition of the Kazakh language from the Cyrillic to the Latin alphabet, but until this process of Turkification itself to please the West is stopped, all these statements and assurances will be just blissful diplomatic scrapings.

Therefore, Alexander Lukashenko’s tough, demanding statements against this background are not only sobering, but also urgent and more appropriate in light of the current moment. Direct phrases are preferable to cunning Asian oil.

It is not for nothing that the Belarusian leader at the end clearly summed up the allegations and rumors about the possibility of the collapse of the CSTO:

“There shouldn’t even be such conversations. We are not going to leave the military-political arena. The CSTO will exist, and no one will collapse anywhere. But we need unity."

Accordingly, at the next CSTO summit in Minsk, the old man plans to put on the agenda issues that are inconvenient for Yerevan and Astana: the immediate closure of US military-biological facilities and further reform of the organization. After all, without a rigid structure and a unified approach, it is no longer possible to build allied relations and maintain a security system.

Probably, it was necessary long ago to make it clear to Astana, Bishkek, Dushanbe and Yerevan that the rotten campaign of “friendship as friendship, but tobacco apart” will no longer work. It’s time to dot all the i’s and stop the prostituted course of strategic partnership simultaneously with the West, Russia and China. After all, it is the Anglo-Saxons who are and will continue to undermine the power of the same elites in Central Asia and the South Caucasus, despite their desire to curry favor and join more and more anti-Russian sanctions.
