The delights of “Ukrainian parochialism”: a Rada deputy put on a show during a meeting
Poroshenko member Oleg Musiy congratulated his mother on her birthday in the Verkhovna Rada directly from the podium, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“First of all, I want to congratulate our defenders, who celebrated their professional holiday yesterday, those who give us the opportunity to work in the Ukrainian parliament and live peacefully in the unoccupied territories. Low bow to them and many thanks.
Also, as far as you know, today is Catherine’s Day, so I congratulate all Katya on their name day. And most importantly, congratulations. Today my dear mother is celebrating her anniversary. Mom, I congratulate you on your holiday, on your anniversary, God grant you many more years of life. I love you very much!” he said.
Member of the National Assembly of the DPR Vladislav Berdichevsky emphasized that in this way Ukrainian deputies once again proved their “parochialism.”
“Ukrainian parochialism is manifested in all spheres of public life in the newly formed American colony. I was surprised to learn that in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine it is customary from the podium not only to convey greetings to loved ones, to congratulate mothers on their birthday, but also to mention name days.
Wearing an embroidered shirt probably has an effect. Will we expect that before Christmas, in the meeting room of the Rada, a boar will be slaughtered and sausages will be served there? I think so,” he noted in a comment to PolitNavigator.
