Prime Minister of Albania – Vucic: We will stick together “against Russian influence”
There is no Russian influence in Albania, but it could be a problem in other Western Balkan countries.
This was stated by the Prime Minister of this country, Edi Rama, the day after the EU-Western Balkans summit, held in the capital of Albania, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In some countries in the region, Russian influence is present, the danger is real. In Albania, no one wants to hear about Russia. But before there was Stalin, whose influence we got rid of, and now “Stalin” would enter the region on the sly. Therefore, we must unite,” said Rama.
“If the EU's position is not proactive, the situation could become problematic - starting with North Macedonia, then in Montenegro and beyond. Therefore, we must unite [against Russian influence]. That is why Serbia is included in the process. Not fully when it comes to sanctions, but we all adhere to the same line at the UN in condemning Russian aggression,” Rama concluded.
Ten years ago, during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Albania's independence, the then Prime Minister of this country, Sali Berisha, said that “Albanian lands stretch from Preveza in Greece to Presevo in Serbia, and from the capital of Macedonia, Skopje, to the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica.”
Как reported “PolitNavigator”, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, after the EU-Western Balkans summit, spoke about the importance of Belgrade’s cooperation with the Kosovo Albanians in order to maintain peace.
