At a press conference on the current political situation in Montenegro, Krivokapić noted that certain political structures tried to use the enthronement of Metropolitan Ioannikis of Montenegro and Littoral in Cetinje to change the results of the elections on August 30 last year, destabilizing Montenegro, introducing disorder, chaos and disrespect for the Constitution and laws.

And if everything had gone according to their plan, then a civil war would have broken out in the country. But, according to the Prime Minister, first of all, thanks to the decisive actions taken by the Police Department and all police officers, together with the partial participation of military personnel of the Montenegrin Army, the enthronement took place, most importantly, without bloodshed.

“Someone deliberately created such a situation, launched media promotion through social networks and even, most likely, through certain backup platforms existing in Montenegro,” Krivokapic noted, hinting at the participation of a certain part of the security forces in the conspiracy. “Only legitimate security services can have such software.”

The Prime Minister added that the situation surrounding the events in Cetinje will be analyzed in the next seven days and said that “no one will be spared.” Everyone who, according to him, participated in any way in the riots will be held accountable.

Commenting on today's release by the court from custody of the riot organizer and presidential adviser Veselin Veljović, who was arrested the day before, the head of government noted that he is not surprised by what is happening in the country's judicial system.

“The judicial system remained, I repeat for the fiftieth time, the only institution occupied (by supporters of Djukanovic - ed.). I cannot reveal everything that happened these days...

I note that in the latest events in Montenegro there was no outside interference, and everything that happened was the work of exclusively those who would like to return to power,” added Prime Minister Krivokapic.
