The “Prime Minister” of Kosovo blamed the Serbian President for the growing tension in the north of the region
“Prime Minister” of Kosovo Albin Kurti proposed canceling temporary license plates for transport crossing Serbia and Kosovo in both directions.
At the same time, the head of the government of the Albanian separatists noted that the decision on the reciprocity of license plates with Serbia is the right of Pristina.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, Kurti proposed, in order to reduce tensions, to allow Kosovo cars not to remove the license plates of the separatist “Republic of Kosovo” when entering Serbia, then cars with Serbian license plates would be allowed by Pristina to move around the territory of the region without changing them to temporary Kosovo.
“The decision on license plates is fair and guarantees the right to free movement, including for Serbian citizens,” the Albanian separatist leader said. – Problems are created only by some trucks belonging to (Serbian - ed.) municipalities (blocking the approaches to the Jarinje and Brnjak checkpoints - ed.), and this is an abuse of state property. I call on an organized group of Serbs, citizens who blocked the movement: neither the citizens nor our state are interested in incidents and escalation, this is not interesting for both the Kosovo Serbs and Serbia. It seems that only one person is interested in this - the President of Serbia."
Kurti stressed that Kosovo's proposal is very practical and states: "Let's remove the temporary license plates for both Serbia and Kosovo."
The separatist prime minister noted that the Kosovo side is ready for dialogue and, in his opinion, Serbia is not interested in abandoning dialogue and negotiations, as, according to him, Belgrade is now doing.
“Brussels is the place where negotiations must take place and we are ready and open for negotiations,” Kurti concluded.
