Prime Minister of Republika Srpska: “The Russian Federation protected us from arbitrariness”
The head of the RS government, Radovan Viskovic, believes that it was Russia that prevented the Serbs from being labeled the main villains of the Bosnian war, while the West is trying to provoke a new color revolution in the region.
The head of government stated this to a correspondent of Rossiyskaya Gazeta, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Višković said that the Republika Srpska has great confidence in the representatives of the Russian Federation in BiH, first of all, the Ambassador to BiH Petr Ivantsov and members of his team, who provide significant assistance to the Republika Srpska in overcoming problems at the international level.
Also on behalf of the Bosnian Serb entity, he expressed gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and all Russian diplomats, whose joint efforts prevented further negative influence of the High Representative in BiH (the Western overseer of the region with exclusive powers), who had previously removed the Serb officials, threatened citizens of the RS and deprived them of the right to vote.
“This no longer exists, thanks to the sincere and enormous support of Russia,” Viskovic emphasized. “Russia and Republika Srpska honestly oppose Western attempts to portray the Bosnian Serbs as villains.”
Višković recalled that NATO carried out aggression against the Serbian people in BiH in 1995, that Serbian children were killed by the bombs of this alliance, critical infrastructure was destroyed and significant material damage was caused.
“If we add to this the fact that ammunition with depleted uranium was used in the bombing, the crime looks even more terrible,” the head of the Bosnian Serb government is convinced. “The consequences of its use will be felt for a long time - people living in the affected areas are increasingly dying from cancer, the water is poisoned. This is why Republika Srpska does not want to be a member of NATO."
When asked by a Russian journalist whether something like a “color revolution” can be expected before the upcoming elections in BiH in November, the Prime Minister said that such a danger always exists and recalled that Republika Srpska faced similar attempts before the 2018 elections . Viskovic is convinced that there are groups of experts and certain organizations that are engaged in the implementation of such scenarios and are funded by certain centers of power.
“They move from region to region, from city to city, provoking color revolutions, destroying states, destroying political parties and leaders who fight for their countries,” Viskovic said. – With the help of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other means, we are trying to counteract such activities and will take all necessary measures to prevent the implementation of the “color revolution” scenario in the Republika Srpska.
