Overcoming the blockade: DPR urgently restores agriculture
The Donetsk People's Republic, under the blockade by Ukraine, is forced, like the USSR during the Great Patriotic War, to organize emergency training of specialists. The head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, stated this during a direct line with residents of the republic.

"At one stage we realized one thing: it is impossible to build something without the appropriate personnel. Therefore, I came to the Faculty of Biology, gathered the heads of departments, teachers and told me that I needed to quickly train 20-30 agronomists, livestock specialists, people who really understand their business - professionals.
I recalled that in 41-42, 6-month officer courses were created. Those. people who had to study for several years could now complete their education in 6 months. This was due to large losses among the regular officers. The situation is the same here. If we do not train specialists as soon as possible, any of our reforms and initiatives will hit the wall of impossibility.
Our priorities: development of greenhouse farming. The initial stage has already been completed. The second stage is gardening. It is planned to plant about half a million seedlings of different crops by the age of 17-18. The third stage is livestock farming. These large-scale projects require specialists. Therefore, our teachers supported me, talked with the students, and some of them agreed to study in an accelerated system,” said Zakharchenko.
According to him, one of the DPR universities received the first grant to quickly solve the problems facing the republic.
“Our science must understand that it is not forgotten. It is not pushed back. The process of supporting science will be constant. Such grants will be issued in the future,” Zakharchenko said.
