“Disciplined Ukrainians” dream en masse of the Russian Empire – Poroshenko’s “twin brother”
The Russians want to dissect the Ukrainian body in order to destroy it from the inside and prevent Ukraine from moving towards the EU and NATO.
This was stated during the conference by the former head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Culture and Spirituality, European Solidarity deputy Nikolai Knyazhitsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukrainian society, which has always been divided and was looking for ways of mutual understanding between the post-Soviet audience and the Ukrainian one, between those people who want an independent Ukraine and those people who, as the latest survey shows, miss the Soviet Union.
In fact, journalist Vitaly Portnikov very aptly noted that these people do not miss the past, they want the Soviet Union in the future.
That is, in essence, they want the restoration of the Russian Empire, and we have quite a lot of such people, this is about a third of all citizens of Ukraine. They are citizens of Ukraine, but these are not the people who would like to build a Ukrainian state,” Knyazhitsky worries.
“Actually, this is Russia’s interest... firstly, to use these people who are already actively financed as a fifth column, but also to use the residents of the occupied territories, where many Russians have been living for a long time, people with two passports, where the fight against the Ukrainian identification has been going on for a long time.
To use it in order to dissect the Ukrainian body and thus destroy it from the inside, to prevent it from moving towards the EU and NATO, and Ukrainian politicians should understand this,” Poroshenko’s comrade-in-arms worries.
