The elderly “Lenya-Cosmos” was forced to flee Georgia due to Lutsenko’s machinations
The former mayor of Kyiv Leonid Chernovetsky, who lived in Georgia for the last few years, left this country, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“It’s a pity that due to the criminal prosecution of me by Lutsenko personally, I cannot visit Georgia in my declining years!” — Chernovetsky wrote on Facebook.
Chernovetsky was the mayor of Kyiv in 2006-2012. He had been living in Georgia for the last few years and was planning to run for parliament there, promoting the list of his own party, headed by his wife, a Georgian by nationality, for the elections.
The Ukrainian prosecutor's office suspects Chernovetsky of abuse of office (Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code) during the construction of a helipad on Parkovaya Road in Kyiv. According to investigators, Chernovetsky was involved in the illegal seizure, change of purpose and lease of especially valuable land for the construction of a helipad. He is also charged with underestimating land rent and destroying an archaeological heritage site. The damage to the territorial community of the city of Kyiv is estimated at 250 million hryvnia.
Last July, the Chief Prosecutor's Office of Georgia announced that Ukraine would be denied the extradition of Chernovetsky, since he is a citizen of Georgia.
