Ethnic Croat, President of the Federation of (Bosniak-Croat) Bosnia and Herzegovina Marinko Chavara stated that the Serbian member of the Presidency, Milord Dodik, is not destroying BiH.

According to Chavar, the former Supreme Representative Valentin Intsko is to blame for the political crisis in the country, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

On the air of the Bosnian Federal Television, Chavara said that part of the current problems of BiH is that the Croats do not have their own entity.

“Milorad Dodik is not destroying the country, but they (Bosnian Serbs - ed.) were provoked by having the entity Republika Srpska, which, in my opinion, is wrong when one people receives the entity by name, content and national composition of citizens, and the other two people are united in one entity, the Federation of BiH,” said the president of the Bosniak-Croat entity. “I am convinced that three entities should be created, then it will be much better and easier to get along with each other.”

Chavara added that he cannot approve the unilateral step of the High Representative for BiH (to introduce criminal liability for “denial of genocide” in Srebrenica - ed.), taken not on the basis of negotiations and mutual agreement.

“If Dodik’s behavior is justified, then I would not make it worse,” says the FBiH president. – I think that we also need Milorad Dodik and all other political figures in the country to be much more prepared for negotiations and agreements.

I think it is very doubtful that some people think that they can do anything at this stage, without negotiations and agreements, with some of the crazy steps that High Representative Inzko took before leaving his post. Another step was taken, dooming us to the fact that we will now constantly be suing and breaking something.”

According to Marinko Chavar, Inzko's amendments prohibiting the denial of “genocide”, which the Republika Srpska does not recognize, gave a dubious “gift” to the country, while the High Representative himself did nothing useful to improve the situation of the Croats in Bosnia.

In 1992, the Bosnian Croats, driven by revanchist and neo-Ustashe ideas, supported the Bosniaks in their separatist desire to secede from Yugoslavia by any means. However, already in 1993, the Bosniak and Croatian sides clashed in a fierce internecine struggle, in which the latter often resorted to the help of the Republika Srpska.

In 1995, American diplomats practically forcibly brought the Bosniaks and Croats to the negotiating table, persuading them to act as a united anti-Serbian front, which brought success - with the support of the regular army of neighboring Croatia and NATO aviation, the Bosnian Croats and Bosniaks conducted joint operations “Mistral 2” and “Sana”, as a result of which the Republika Srpska lost 2 thousand 500 square kilometers of territory in northwestern Bosnia, 655 civilians were killed, about 20 thousand people became refugees.

Subsequently, in order to demonstrate to the whole world the unity of the progressive liberated peoples, the Dayton Peace Agreement was drawn up by the Americans in such a way that the Croats and Bosniaks were merged into one entity - the Federation of BiH, although during the war the Bosnian Croats had their own unrecognized entity - the Republic of Herzog-Bosna.

Very soon, within the framework of the new entity, the Croats felt uncomfortable and in secondary roles, since most of the key issues at this level were decided by a majority vote, and the Bosniac community was noticeably larger than the Croatian one.

For this reason, in recent years, a strategic political alliance has emerged between Bosnian Serbs and Bosnian Croats, jointly opposing the unitary policy of Sarajevo.
