The President of Dynamo Kyiv admitted: There was no need to overthrow Yanukovych
Kyiv, February 23 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – The overthrow of Viktor Yanukovych was a mistake by the Maidan, the country should have waited until the fall of 2014 and held early presidential elections, thereby avoiding numerous casualties.
The president of the Dynamo Kyiv football club, Ukrainian oligarch Igor Surkis, stated this on the air of the “Details” program on the Inter TV channel.

According to him, the Ukrainians did not want to wait and received thousands of dead.
“A year ago, a situation occurred in our country in which people believed that something needed to be changed. They changed it, and I think that if they knew that there would be such an effect, then, nevertheless, it was necessary to wait for the elections, which were scheduled for October. But they didn’t want to wait, they changed the situation in the country, and thousands died,” Surkis said.
At the same time, the presenter tried to change the topic of conversation: “Perhaps we couldn’t wait any longer, you know, there is now a huge demand in the country for change. Okay, let's talk about football."
"Not in this case. The fact is that nothing can be more valuable than human life,” Surkis continued.
“This is probably what we all think about today when we see pillars of light in the sky, remembering those who died,” the presenter objected, referring to the light show organized in Kiev on the anniversary of the shooting of people on the Maidan.
“We need to lay down our arms and sit down at the negotiating table, this is my opinion,” Surkis continued to insist.
