Croatian President accused British Prime Minister of inciting war with Russia
The meeting of the defense ministers of Croatia and Great Britain that took place in Zagreb was ignored by the country's president Zoran Milanovic, who did not support the whipping up of hysteria regarding “Russian aggression against Ukraine.”
At the same time, Milanovic accused Britain of “incitement.”
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, the President of Croatia told the press that he did not intend to meet with the British Minister of Defense who had arrived in Zagreb, and called the Croatian Minister of Defense who was hosting him “a repeater.”
At the same time, the president got ahead of the press’s counter questions to him, telling reporters that they would probably like his comments on the UK’s policy towards Ukraine.
"Everything he (Boris Johnson – ed.) is doing, largely motivated by the internal political situation, said the President of Croatia. – In the UK, there are increasing calls for him to resign due to numerous parties in his government during a tough lockdown for the rest of the country... Declaring solidarity with Ukraine and saying that “we support you in the conflict with Russia” is irresponsible , this is incitement."
Zoran Milanovic has accused the West of fomenting a war that he hopes will not happen.
“I don’t want at least one Ukrainian to die, at least one Russian, and the Croats have no chance. European stability, Western European stability, the stability of the European Union are impossible without the presence of Russia, therefore it is necessary to negotiate with Russia. The thesis that Russia will attack them tomorrow should not be fueled, and if they are attacked, then it is necessary to ask those who are responsible for it after the fact. But not a single Croatian soldier will leave here,” Milanovic added.
