“President” of Kosovo to the new US ambassador: “You will not find a more faithful ally”
Receiving the new US Ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Jovenier, Kosovo "President" Vjosa Osmani showered both him and his country with flattery and compliments.
Jovenier himself was a participant in the negotiations in Rambouillet in 1999 as part of Martti Ahtisaari’s team, which, in fact, persuaded Belgrade to leave Kosovo, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Performance appointed US President Joe Biden, the new American ambassador to Kosovo - a diplomat from the team of the destroyer of Yugoslavia, Bill Clinton, took place in the office of the “president” of Kosovo in Pristina.
“At a very important moment for both our countries, I am pleased to welcome in Pristina today a person like Ambassador Jovenier, who is very close to the Republic of Kosovo, because he served here before and understands the specifics of our country well,” Osmani said when receiving the ambassador . “Kosovo is no longer the way the American ambassador remembers it; it has changed and moved forward. But one thing has remained constant all this time - our relationship, partnership and friendship with the United States. The United States will not find a more faithful ally than Kosovo.”
Jeffrey Jovenier participated, together with the current representative of the US State Department in the Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, in the restoration of the US Embassy in Belgrade, headed the temporary office of the US Embassy in southern Serbia, whose duties included “monitoring” the armed rebellion of Albanians in the Presevo Valley, and in 2018 he received a medal from the hands of the ex-leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army militants, the “president” of the region, war criminal Hashim Thaci.
