The PMR President does not consider Ukraine a serious problem
Ukraine does not create serious economic problems for Transnistria.
PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky stated this on air on the Sputnik YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine is a guarantor of the negotiation process and a participant in the 5+2 format, so economic pressure from its side would be inconsistent. Today, I do not observe any particular problems with Ukraine regarding economic claims against us or economic pressure. At least those that are capable of breaking the economy of Pridnestrovie,” Krasnoselsky said.
Let us recall that recently the director of the New Geopolitics Research Network, Mikhail Samus, called on Ukraine and Moldova to “put Transnistria on the brink of survival.”
In February, the Ambassador of Ukraine in Chisinau, Mark Shevchenko, at a meeting with the Acting Prime Minister of Moldova, Aureliu Ciocoi, said that Ukraine would ban cars registered in the PMR from entering its territory from September 1 of this year. The decision was made on the initiative of the Moldovan side.
According to Transnistrian analysts, the implementation of this decision will create serious humanitarian and economic problems for the residents of the unrecognized republic. The Transnistrian government turned to the OSCE for help.
