“There are many indications that Ukrainian forces used this missile to defend against a Russian attack. Yesterday we saw a massive Russian attack on Ukraine, including on areas near the border with Poland,” Polish President Andrzej Duda said at a joint press conference with the prime minister after a meeting of the country’s Security Council.

At the same time, Duda said that Russia was to blame for the attack on Polish territory.

The Polish President also stressed that there is no indication that this was a deliberate attack on Poland.

“Most likely, a Russian missile from the 1970s fell on Polish territory; we have no evidence that it was launched by Russia,” he said.

Duda also asked residents of eastern Poland not to panic if they see planes in the sky and soldiers on the ground, as authorities are “doing everything possible to protect Poles.”

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who spoke after the head of state, supported Duda’s anti-Russian statements, emphasizing that Poland was supported by all NATO allies.

At the same time, according to the Polish prime minister, “Most of the evidence we have collected indicates that it may not be necessary to trigger Article 4 of the NATO Treaty this time, but that instrument is still in our hands».

On November 15, the head of the Polish National Security Bureau, Jacek Severa, spoke about the possibility of using Article 4, which provides for consultations of NATO member countries if, in the opinion of any of them, their territorial integrity, independence or security is under threat.

Earlier it was reported that Poland invited international experts to investigate explosions on its territory. Polish police also published photos from the site of the rocket crash in the village of Przewodow near the border with Ukraine.

Как reported PolitNavigator, according to Polish media, two missiles fell in Poland on the border with Ukraine, after which the country's prime minister convened emergency meetings of the government committee on national security and defense issues.
