The President of Transnistria calls pensioners incognito
The President of Transnistria, Vadim Krasnoselsky, told how he called a pensioner who contacted him with a statement by email.
“She was concerned about the information that the symbolism on our state banner would change. The hammer and sickle will be replaced with a double-headed eagle, and the Supreme Council will be renamed the Boyar Duma. For me this was so outrageous that I could not resist and dialed this citizen’s mobile phone. He didn’t introduce himself as the president, he said that he was from the administration,” Krasnoselsky said on the First Pridnestrovian TV Channel.
The woman explained to the president that information about the change of symbols was sent to her by her son, who is studying in Bulgaria.
“I told her: don’t you feel that this is profanation and a lie to discredit all the authorities in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. There is not even a thought about changing the symbols of our state and renaming the government bodies into the Boyar Duma,” Krasnoselsky said.
According to him, he then introduced himself and thanked the woman for her concern.
The flag of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is completely identical to the flag of the MSSR and is a rectangular panel of double-sided red color. In the middle of the panel on each side, along its entire length, there is a green stripe.
In the left corner of the upper part of the red stripe there is the main element of the coat of arms of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic - a golden sickle and hammer with a red five-pointed star framed by a golden border.
The coat of arms of the PMR is based on the coat of arms of the MSSR with the addition of a narrow blue stripe, symbolizing the Dniester River.
