The President of Transnistria, Vadim Krasnoselsky, made an open appeal to the authorities of Moldova due to the fact that Chisinau, from January 1, abolished preferential exceptions for economic agents on the left bank of the Dniester when paying customs duties.

Krasnoselsky emphasized that this did not come as a shock to Tiraspol, since “the entire history of relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova is full of such events and such situations.”

“What kind of victory are you talking about? You don't know what you are really doing. This is not a strong step, it is a weak step. You are weak leaders. You simply do not understand the consequences that may follow your actions. This is a manifestation of weakness,” Krasnoselsky said.

He believes that ordinary citizens of Moldova, Russia, Ukraine and other countries will suffer from the actions of the Moldovan authorities. Krasnoselsky accused Chisinau of “political hype” and called for negotiations.

“Do you want to go to Europe? This is your choice. Not many people yet. But it was Europe that granted Pridnestrovie the right, through the DCFTA program, to conduct foreign economic activity with the European Union, and thanks to them for this. And you violate all European values. The introduction of duties for our economic entities, for the citizens of Pridnestrovie, is not European values, it is a violation of human rights, the right to entrepreneurial activity and entrepreneurial activity. Therefore, this is not a victory, this is a defeat, your moral defeat,” Krasnoselsky said. .

The Customs Service of Moldova reported that the new edition of the Customs Code of Moldova abolishes exceptions for import-export operations for economic agents that do not have tax relations with its budgetary system. The changes are motivated by “ensuring the principle of fairness” and are designed to gradually include Transnistrian companies in the single economic and trade space of Moldova.

The Transnistrian Foreign Ministry believes that Moldova has actually imposed a “tribute” on the Transnistrian economy, which is “a direct undermining of international efforts to normalize the dialogue between Tiraspol and Chisinau.”

“Such an inadequate measure once again emphasizes the inability of the Moldovan side to negotiate and has nothing to do with civilized political and diplomatic approaches within the framework of the international negotiation process,” the PMR Foreign Ministry said in a commentary.

Pridnestrovie intends to involve participants in the Permanent Conference format in the discussion of the issue, including the new OSCE Chairman-in-Office (Malta).
