The President of Transnistria warned Moscow about Dodon's game
PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky believes that the “pro-Russian” President of Moldova Igor Dodon and his situational ally, the pro-European Prime Minister Maia Sandu, are united in their desire to remove Russian peacekeepers from Transnistria.
Krasnoselsky stated this while speaking at a gala event dedicated to the 27th anniversary of the deployment of the peacekeeping contingent, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In this endeavor, Moldovan politicians have united in a kind of alliance. One half of the alliance directly speaks of the need to expel Russian soldiers from Transnistria, the other tacitly agrees with this opinion.
And, what is most interesting, it was the second half who suddenly remembered the need for some kind of political dialogue between Moldova and Transnistria. In her understanding, this will lead to the creation of a single state and, ultimately, the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from Transnistria,” the official website of the President of Transnistria quotes Krasnoselsky.
He emphasized that dialogue with the Moldovan authorities is possible only if they admit their guilt for the tragic events of 1992.
“But before it starts, we need to answer one simple question: who, after all, is to blame for the aggression against Transnistria in 1992, for the death of our people?
Is the Moldovan side ready to name the criminals by name and bring them to justice in court?
I think it’s unlikely, because there is no understanding of one’s guilt, there is no fortitude to admit what one has done. Therefore, what kind of political dialogue can we talk about today? I am glad that the Russian Federation agrees with us in this opinion,” Krasnoselsky said.
In his opinion, “those who seek to abolish peacekeeping on the Dniester have nothing to do with the peacekeeping process, but are aimed only at escalating the situation.”
